Xara 3d software is a very impressive software for making 3D logos.  It is very easy to learn and is unbelievably quick in designing logos.   You can actually make 3D logos in less than 5 minutes with Xara 3d.  At a cost of only $39 it is one of the best bargains on the Internet.  They also have a 15 day free trial version.

Version 3 is now available for download from Xara's web site.  The new version includes shadows, new animation types, new text controls, support for multi-line text and the ability to extrude 3D shapes from graphic files.
