Title Bar
The Title Bar displays the program icon, the application or active image title, and the buttons for minimizing, maximizing, and closing the window.

Tool Bar
The Tool Bar displays buttons for the most frequently used features of Paint Shop Pro.   The Tool Bar and the Tool Palette can easily be dragged to other locations on the screen by grabbing the handles and dragging to the sides, top or bottom of the screen.

Active Image
The Image Window can be sized for your convenience through the use of the Zoom Tool.  It can be dragged to any portion of the open screen.

Tool Palette
The Tool Palette features the tools you will use while working on your image.  Tool Palette explanations.

Layer Palette
The Layer Palette allows you to work in layers.

Menu Bar
The Menu Bar contains the drop-down menus: File, Edit, View, Image, Colors, Layers, Selections, Masks, Capture, Window, and Help.

Color Palette
You can select colors from the Color Palette by clicking on a color within the box with the Dropper Tool.  You can also right or left click on the Foreground or Background Colors below the color Palette to have the Select Color From Palette window become visible for choosing colors.

Foreground and Background Colors
The upper left box is the Foreground Color and the lower right box is the background color.  Clicking on these boxes opens up the Select Color From Palette window for selecting colors.  The colors in these two boxes are the colors you will be using for painting, type, lines, etc.

Control Palette
The Control Palette changes depending on what Tool you are currently using.  This Palette allows you to change the shape and size of tools as well as other controls over the tools.  This window can be toggled visible and hidden by typing "O".

Status Bar
The Status Bar displays information about the Tools and Images.  Pointing the cursor at a Tool will display a brief description of the tool on the Status Bar.  Pixel size and Image file size will be displayed on the Status Bar when the cursor is on the image.
